The ACLU recently announced an historic effort to defend alleged 9/11 conspirators against conviction and execution by the military commissions at Guantanamo Bay. Join the Broward County ACLU and other concerned citizens to learn about this important but potentially unpopular stand by America?s leading civil liberties defenders. We?ll show the DVD ?Freedom from Abuse of Power: Torture and Unlawful Imprisonment? which includes firsthand accounts by people arbitrarily detained at Guantanamo Bay and tortured in secret overseas prisons. We welcome your attendance and participation. There is no charge. (The Jim Ward Community Center is just a few blocks to the west of State Road 7, and a few blocks north of Broward Boulevard.)
